Ireland is officially called the "Republic of Ireland" 
and is made up of 26 of the 32 existing counties. 

Six counties in the Ulster Province make up "Northern Ireland" 
which is a part of Great Britain (along with England, Scotland, and Wales). 
Those six counties are: County Tyrone, County Fermanagh, 
County Antrim, County Derry, County Armagh and County Down.

County Mayo is in Connaught Province
on the west side of Ireland.

























"Accony" (Aghany) is on the 
southwest corner of this close-up map 
of County Mayo, just west (left) of 
 the Town of Louisburgh.
It is located on the southern shore of 
Clew Bay where the ferry boat 
takes you out to Clare Island.
